The Lewis D. Physioc papers include many photographs and documentation from his time spent on location in the South Pacific and Asia during the filming of THE BEAST OF BORNEO (1934).
- BiographyLewis W. Physioc was an American cinematographer, matte painter, and artist active from 1900 until his death in 1972. He began his career as a cameraman for Thomas Edison and, following a move to Los Angeles, worked for Goldwyn Studios, Republic Pictures, and Universal Studios. His work as a cinematographer includes A CONEY ISLAND PRINCESS, THE KNIFE, and THE BEAST OF BORNEO. In 1935 he began teaching cinematography at USC.
