- BiographyLewis W. Physioc was an American cinematographer, matte painter, and artist active from 1900 until his death in 1972. He began his career as a cameraman for Thomas Edison and, following a move to Los Angeles, worked for Goldwyn Studios, Republic Pictures, and Universal Studios. His work as a cinematographer includes A CONEY ISLAND PRINCESS, THE KNIFE, and THE BEAST OF BORNEO. In 1935 he began teaching cinematography at USC.
