Public summaryIn a rural village near Delhi, India, women lead the fight against the cultural stigma of menstruation. Generations of girls who did not have access to sanitary pads traditionally missed school or dropped out. But when a pad machine comes to the village, women decide to learn how to manufacture and market them. They are joined by high school girls in California who raised the seed money for what became known as "The Pad Project" that empowered women and girls in the community.
