Biography
Elizabeth Taylor was a British-born actress and humanitarian active from 1942 to 2002. She began her career as a child actress in such films as LASSIE COME HOME, NATIONAL VELVET, and LITTLE WOMEN. As an adult, she starred in such films as A PLACE IN THE SUN, GIANT, CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF, and THE TAMING OF THE SHREW. She won two Academy Awards for Best Actress in a Leading Role for BUTTERFIELD 8 and WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? She was awarded the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award in 1993.
