Biography
Joe Pasternak was a Hungarian-born film producer active from 1923 to 1968. He produced films in Germany and Hungary before returning to Hollywood and revitalizing Universal Pictures with several Deanna Durbin musicals. He also produced numerous musicals for MGM, including ANCHORS AWEIGH, IN THE GOOD OLD SUMMERTIME, and SUMMER STOCK. In 1956 he co-founded Euterpe Productions with Sam Katz and produced such films as PLEASE DON’T EAT THE DAISIES, WHERE THE BOYS ARE, and THE COURTSHIP OF EDDIE’S FATHER.
