Colleen Moore (1900-1988) was born Kathleen Morrison in Port Huron, Michigan. Her film acting career began in 1917. Throughout the 1920s she often portrayed independent women (usually flappers) on screen. Moore's attempt to move beyond silent films was largely unsuccessful and her film career was over by the mid-1930s.
