Thelma Ritter was an American film, television, and stage actress active from 1922 to 1968. Her acting career began in stock theater where she met her husband, fellow actor Joseph Aloysius Moran (1901-1974), later an advertising executive for Young & Rubicam. She was nominated six times for an Academy Award for best actress in a supporting role.
