Biography
Janet Leigh (1927-2004) was an American film and television actress active from 1946 to 2001. Throughout her career she appeared in a variety of genres and worked with such diverse filmmakers as Fred Zinnemann, Anthony Mann, Orson Welles, Alfred Hitchcock, John Frankenheimer, and Jerry Lewis. Leigh was married to Tony Curtis from 1951 to 1962 and appeared in several films with him during their marriage. The couple had two daughters, including actress and author Jamie Lee Curtis. Leigh was nominated for an Academy Award for best actress in a supporting role for her work in PSYCHO (1960).
