The collection consists of more than 50 unedited typescripts for interviews conducted by Tuchman with film personalities, as well as research material compiled by Tuchman. Among those interviewed are Ray Bradbury, Bruce Conner, Dustin Hoffman, David Lynch, Don Siegel, Steven Spielberg, Andy Warhol, Cindy Williams and Frederick Wiseman. Most of the interviews were conducted in connection with a specific film or topic.

The Mitch Tuchman interview transcripts span the years circa 1971-1991 (bulk 1973-1984) and encompass 1.9 linear feet. The collection consists in the main of more than 50 unedited typescripts for interviews conducted by Tuchman with film personalities, as well as research material compiled by Tuchman. Among those interviewed are Ray Bradbury, Bruce Conner, Dustin Hoffman, David Lynch, Don Siegel, Steven Spielberg, Andy Warhol, Cindy Williams and Frederick Wiseman. Most of the interviews were conducted in connection with a specific film or topic, such as the "reverse blacklist," but if the interview's emphasis was on the subject and their career and body of work, it was filed under the person's name. Most were conducted within the Los Angeles area or through telephone connections, but the range of locations extends as far as Africa's Ivory Coast. - BiographyMitch Tuchman is an American author turned lawyer. During the 1970s and 1980s Tuchman's interviews with film personalities and articles on film appeared in "American Film," "Film Comment," and "Premiere," as well as in numerous general interest magazines and newspapers. He served as head of publications at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) for a decade and a half, beginning in 1983. Tuchman has authored books on collectors, American art movements, and American pottery.
