- Summary
The collection contains miscellaneous material retained in Special Collections from Hudson's estate after the bulk of the material was incorporated into the library's Core Collection Files. Included are a 1933 jigsaw puzzle featuring Our Gang characters, a sheet of Maud G. Baum stationery with color drawings depicting characters from THE WIZARD OF OZ (1939), two letters from Joan Crawford to Hudson, and a typed note from Mae West to Hudson.

Graphic Arts
The Graphic Arts series of the Richard M. Hudson collection spans the years 1911-1982 and contains 855 posters. The posters are primarily U.S. one-sheets from 1940-1980 and a few alternative formats printed in other countries, like a French grande for THE STRANGE ONES (1950). Other titles include THE THIN MAN GOES HOME (1945), APRIL IN PARIS (1952), DESK SET (1957) and THE ELECTRIC HORSEMAN (1979). - BiographyRichard M. Hudson was an American collector of film memorabilia. From his residence in Hollywood he collected photographs, posters, lobby cards, window cards, sheet music, programs, pressbooks, and pamphlets. In the 1970s he produced two books comprised of photographs, one on silver screen vamps and camps, the other on actress Gloria Swanson.
