Elfriede Fischinger was a German-born fashion designer. She designed abstract textiles and, following her marriage to animator and painter Oskar Fischinger, assisted her husband with his animations. The couple emigrated to Hollywood in 1936 and Elfriede designed clothing for Mascot Studios, Susie’s Sweaters, and Andres of Beverly Hills. After her husband’s death in 1967, she diligently worked to preserve and promote Oskar Fischinger’s films and paintings.
