The eighteen scrapbooks are arranged in chronological order and contain clippings from newspapers, periodicals, and fan publications; theater ticket stubs; and some heralds, programs, and cutouts from lobby cards. While most of the clippings are not sourced, many are from Boston area newspapers and periodicals from "Motion Picture Magazine" to "Screenland." The first 13 volumes contain material glued in to lined notebooks measuring 7 x 8.5 inches; in the last 5 the material is in lined notebooks measuring 8 x 10.5. Some items are annotated with the film title in white ink.
- BiographyHarrison Sears Fisk (1911-2000) was born in the metropolitan Boston area and raised in neighboring Quincy where he attended Douglas Fairbanks films at the Colonial and Alhambra Theatres. During the time the scrapbooks were put together, Fisk was between the ages of 9 and 21. He attended Boston University where he was a member of the Beta Chapter. His work as a freelance photographer while living in Sandwich, New Hampshire, from 1934 to 1954, led to employment in 1955 with the Motion Picture Department of Eastman Kodak in New York.
- Douglas Fairbanks, born Douglas Elton Ulman, was an American actor, producer, and writer active in film from 1915 to 1934. He founded his own production company around 1916 and during the 1920s starred in a number of popular films that showcased his personality, athleticism, and acting skills. Fairbanks was married to actress Mary Pickford from 1920 to 1936 and the couple reigned over Hollywood from their residence in Beverly Hills, known as Pickfair. Fairbanks and Pickford were among the co-founders of United Artists. Douglas Fairbanks Pictures Corp. was formed in 1917 in New York, and later had offices in Los Angeles. Douglas Fairbanks served as president and John Fairbanks as treasurer. The company was a subsidiary of the Elton Corp. of New York. Fairbanks served as the first president of the Academy.
