- Summary
The collection contains nearly 1,000 cigarette cards in 20 picture card albums that cover the first decade of sound films. Most of the cards feature a color portrait on front and a brief biography on back. Issuers of the cigarette cards include Ardath, Carreras, Gallaher, Lloyd, Mitchell, Morris, Ogden, Phillips, Player, and Wills. The order of the volumes retains the donor's numbering system.
- BiographyDwight Cleveland is a real-estate developer in Chicago, Illinois. He began collecting posters in 1977 while in high school, inspired by film posters in an art teacher’s classroom.
