- BiographyErnest Pintoff was an American director, producer, writer, and composer active from 1957 to 1985. He was also an educator who taught at the School of Visual Arts, American Film Institute, USC School of Cinematic Arts, California Institute of the Arts, and UCLA. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Short Subject (Cartoon) for THE VIOLINIST (1959) and earned an Academy Award for Best Short Subject (Cartoon) for THE CRITIC (1963).
