- BiographyLeigh Wharton was an actor and documentary filmmaker, born in West Derby Bootie, Lancashire, England. He served in the Royal Air Force during World War II. Studying acting with Lee Strasberg at The Actor’s Studio in New York in the mid-1950s and led to roles on Broadway and on television. He became a U.S. citizen in 1965. He was an actor and director of more than 30 documentaries.
