Posters in the Arnold R. Kunert papers span the years 1926 to 2004 (bulk 1950-1969) and are primarily American one-sheets with an emphasis on adventure and science fiction films. Titles include a 1943 re-release for SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS (1937), 3:10 TO YUMA (1957), JASON AND THE ARGONAUTS (1963), and ALIENS (1986). - BiographyArnold Kunert was a high school and college educator, writer, producer, director, and a life-long collector. Kunert started gathering film memorabilia when he was 12 years old. His mother would drive him from his hometown of Hammond, Indiana to the National Screen Service office in Chicago, Illinois to get complete press packages for films that he liked which included many science fiction titles. After retiring from education, Kunert produced film festival screenings and DVD compilations. He was a great admirer of Ray Harryhausen whose films are especially well-documented in Kunert's collection.
