- BiographyVilmos Zsigmond was a Hungarian-born cinematographer active from 1953 to 2014. He is known for his work on such films as McCABE AND MRS. MILLER, DELIVERANCE, THE LONG GOODBYE, HEAVEN’S GATE, and BLOW OUT, among many others. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Cinematography three times for THE DEER HUNTER, THE RIVER, and THE BLACK DAHLIA and he received the same award for CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND.
