- BiographyHaskell Wexler was an American cinematographer, director, and producer active from 1953 until his death in 2015. As a filmmaker, he directed, produced, and served as cinematographer on MEDIUM COOL and the documentary THE BUS. During his extensive career as a cinematographer, Wexler earned two Academy Awards for Best Cinematography, Black-and-White for WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? and Best Cinematography for BOUND FOR GLORY. He was nominated in the same category for ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST, MATEWAN, and BLAZE.
