The Film Score Monthly (FSM) records consist of documentation, including music cue sheets, music instrumental breakdowns, pre-recording and scoring logs, daily music reports, recording logs, and photographs collected by Lukas Kendall during production of some 250 soundtrack reissues produced for the FSM label. Composers well-represented include Jerry Goldsmith, Bronislau Kaper, Andre Previn, David Raksin, Miklos Rozsa, and John Williams. Some files include music timing notes, music spotting notes, and conductor scores. The conductor scores usually consist of a selection of cues from the film.
The collection consists entirely of photocopies and faxes of documents solicited by Kendall from film studios that first released the film containing the soundtrack and from university archives and performing rights societies. The years given reflect the dates from the original documents. While preparing to reissue the recordings some of the photocopies were annotated by Kendall or his staff, often with timings, cue titles, or incidental notes. - BiographyFilm Score Monthly (FSM) is an online magazine, and former print magazine, founded by editor-in-chief and executive producer Lukas Kendall in 1990 as The Soundtrack Correspondence List.
