The collection consists of approximately 65,880 items, which include negatives, transparencies, and photographic prints; 1,230 newspaper tear sheets from weekly columns featuring Dallinger’s photographs; and some 6,000 index cards listing those photographed. The collection also includes correspondence, magazine covers, tear sheets for "Inside Hollywood" and "Hollywood Off Guard," ephemera such as press buttons and ribbons, and other items related to his photography career, including presentation material pertaining to his 1982 book “Unforgettable Hollywood" and its unpublished sequel.
- BiographyNat Dallinger was an American photographer who covered the Hollywood scene from the 1930s until his retirement in 1971. Initially a studio photographer, he later worked for the Los Angeles bureau of the New York Times and for King Features Syndicate. He was a perennial photographer at the Academy Awards.
