- BiographyGarson Kanin (1912-1999) was an American screenwriter and director of plays and films. Kanin and his first wife, Ruth Gordon, wrote five films together, including A DOUBLE LIFE (1947), ADAM'S RIB (1949), and PAT AND MIKE (1952), which were nominated for Academy Awards for their screenplays.
