- BiographyJames Watson Webb Jr. was an American film editor and heir to both the Havemeyer and Vanderbilt families. He worked as a film editor for Twentieth Century-Fox between 1940 and 1952. Often working with directors Walter Lang and Henry Hathaway he edited the Academy Award-winning films STATE FAIR (1945), THE RAZOR'S EDGE (1946), and A LETTER TO THREE WIVES (1949). Webb retired at age 36 to devote himself to artistic patronage and charitable works, including operating the Shelburne Museum in Vermont, founded by his mother.
