The Todd McCarthy collection contains his manuscripts for books about John Alton and Andre De Toth. Some of the material was published as "Fragments: portraits from the inside" by Andre de Toth (1994) and "Andre de Toth: putting the drama in front of the camera / a conversation with Anthony Slide" (1996).
- BiographyTodd McCarthy is an American film critic and occasional documentary filmmaker.
- John Alton was a Hungarian-born director of photography. He served as a Signal Corps Captain in World War II. Alton received an Academy Award in the color photography category for AN AMERICAN IN PARIS (1951).
- Andre de Toth was a Hungarian-born writer and director who made films in both his native country and the United States between the late 1930s to the 1960s. He is best remembered as the director of the 3D film HOUSE OF WAX.
