The Ben Shedd papers consist of production files, photographs, and artwork related to his filmmaking career, including the home movies (staged by his father) in which he appeared as a child. Documentation of films including DANCING IN THE SKY, THE FLIGHT OF HTE GOSSAMER CONDOR, FORT WORTH FLYOVER, MARS MINUS MYTH, SEASONS, SONGWRITER, TROPICAL RAINFOREST, COSMOS [television], and NOVA [television]. Shedd's work on IMAX and OMNIMAX films is well documented as is his work on films involving the environment.
- BiographyBen Shedd is an American film/video producer-director-writer. He is a graduate of the USC School of Cinematic Arts, and was a member of the original production team for the PBS science series "Nova" in the 1970s. His 1978 documentary film THE FLIGHT OF THE GOSSAMER CONDOR received the Academy Award as Best Documentary Short Subject. He directed and produced documentary films in IMAX, including SEASONS and TROPICAL RAINFOREST.
