Special Collections
The Andrew Davis papers span the years 1974-2006 and encompass 56 linear feet. The collection largely consists of scripts and production material for twelve films directed by Davis, many of which he also wrote and/or produced, including STONY ISLAND (1978), THE PACKAGE (1989), UNDER SIEGE (1992), THE FUGITIVE (1993), and HOLES (2003). There are also production files on BEAT STREET (1984), written by Davis, and UNIVERSAL SOLDIER, a project that Davis worked on from 1990 to 1991 which was ultimately directed by Roland Emmerich and released in 1992. Also of interest are the media files covering Davis’s work directing a commercial for Chevrolet as well as four Batman-themed commercials for Onstar. - BiographyAndrew Davis is an American film director, producer, writer, and cinematographer active in film since 1969. He began his career as an assistant cameraman to Haskell Wexler on MEDIUM COOL (1969) and within a decade he wrote, produced, and directed STONY ISLAND (1978). He is primarily known for directing action thrillers, such as ABOVE THE LAW (1988), UNDER SIEGE (1992), and THE FUGITIVE (1993).
