- BiographyBoris Karloff was a British-born actor active from 1911 until his death in 1969. He began his career acting on stage in Canada and eventually made his way to Hollywood, where he appeared in his first film in 1919. He is best known for his work in Universal’s horror films of the 1930s, beginning with FRANKENSTEIN and including THE MUMMY, THE BLACK CAT, BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN, and THE RAVEN.
