- BiographyErich Wolfgang Korngold was an Austrian-born composer who arrived in Hollywood in 1934. Under contract at Warner Brothers studios from 1934 until 1947, he composed some of his best known film scores including THE PRIVATE LIVES OF ELIZABETH AND ESSEX (1939), JUAREZ (1939), and KINGS ROW (1942). He received an Oscar for his original score for THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD (1938). George W. Korngold was the son of Erich Wolfgang Korngold and worked in the film industry as a music editor and recording supervisor before embarking on a career as a record producer.
