- BiographySolomon Max "Sol" Wurtzel was an American film producer. He started out as an assistant to William Fox at the Fox Film Corporation. Fox sent Wurtzel to Hollywood from New York in 1917 to serve as general superintendent of Fox's Hollywood studio. He had a lengthy association with Fox Film Corp. and Twentieth Century-Fox and went on to produce the MR. MOTO and CHARLIE CHAN film series. Sol Wurtzel's son, Paul Wurtzel, worked as an assistant director and production manager within the film and television industry.
