- BiographyVal Lewton, born Vladimir Leventon, was a Ukrainian-born producer who began working in films as an assistant to David O. Selznick. Lewton is best known for producing a series of low-budget horror films for RKO in the 1940s, including CAT PEOPLE (1942), I WALKED WITH A ZOMBIE (1943), THE LEOPARD MAN (1943), and THE SEVENTH VICTIM (1943).
