- BiographyLeo Salkin was a Canadian-born American film animator and writer who worked at studios such as MGM, Universal, and Disney. He wrote Disney's 1955 Oscar-nominated animated short PIGS IS PIGS and directed the animated short of the Mel Brooks comedy routine, THE 2,000 YEAR OLD MAN. Salkin received the Winsor McCay Award in 1974 in recognition of his contributions to the art of animation.
