The Carlos Borcosque disc recordings are from around 1937. There are 50 recordings (on 38 discs) of the radio program "Reporter de Tangee en Hollywood" (also known as "Reporter Cinematografico de Tangee desde Hollywood"), with reports in Spanish on the movie industry made in Hollywood by Carlos Borcosque for broadcast in Argentina. All programs from #2 through #51 are present; through #26, each program takes up one side of a disc, with two programs on each disc (except for #2, which is blank on the back); beginning with #27, each program is in 2 parts, using both sides of its disc.
- BiographyCarlos Borcosque was a Chilean-born writer and director active from 1922 until his death in 1965. In 1922 he established the Estudios Cinematográficos Borcosque in Chile and directed several silent films, including VIDA Y MILAGROS DE DON FAUSTO. From 1927 to 1938 he worked in Hollywood as a journalist for Chilean and Argentinian periodicals and was also an assistant director and dialogue director to many Spanish-language productions at MGM, eventually directing the Spanish-language versions of MADAME X and THE PHANTOM OF PARIS. He also reported for a weekly radio show, recorded in Hollywood about the latest movie news, to be broadcast in numerous Spanish-language countries.
