- BiographyCharles E. Kurtzman was an American film theater manager. He began his career as a newspaper reporter for "The Call" in San Francisco and as a correspondent for "Variety." In 1923 he served as the publicity director for Warner Bros. He worked the publicity department for Paramount theaters in San Francisco then became division manager for the Pacific Coast region. Kurtzman went on to become assistant to the general sales manager for Fox in New York. The majority of his career was spent with Loew's theaters, first as a division manager in Boston, then as a general manager.
