- Summary
The six albums contain hundreds of cards with images of German and American actors, as well as some French actors. The cards are mounted in printed albums with indices in back. Some of the cards depict scenes from films, including a few Nazi films, and some of the albums have full-page scenes from various German films. The cards, measuring 1-3/8 inches by 2-3/8 inches and in color, were issued by German cigarette manufacturers Caid; Haus Bergmann, also known as HB; Josetti; and Salem. Each volume contains a complete set of cards.
Tobacco companies in Germany issued collectible cards, commonly known as cigarette cards or tobacco cards, before and during the 20th century. During the 1930s these included pictures of film stars and scenes from films. The collector of the cards and compilor of the albums is not known at this time. - Subjects
