- BiographyBernard Gordon was an American screenwriter most active in film during the 1950s and 1960s. He began his career in Hollywood as a reader. His first produced screenplay was FLESH AND FURY in 1952. Soon after, he was named as a Communist before the House Committee on Un-American Activities (HUAC) and blacklisted. Using the name Raymond T. Marcus, he worked on many films during the 1950s. In the 1960s he returned to writing under his given name.
