The William Fox correspondence with Sol Wurtzel is from 1919. There are photocopies of a letter from Fox to Wurtzel expressing his displeasure with West Coast productions and of Wurtzel's reply. Both letters are more than twenty pages in length.
- BiographyWilliam Fox was born in Austria-Hungary and came to the United States before his first birthday. He founded the Fox Film Corporation in 1915. Although he lost control of the company in 1935, his name is still attached to one of the world's largest film and television companies. Sol Wurtzel was born in New York City. He became Fox's executive assistant and in 1917 was sent to California to oversee West Coast operations. He would go on to produce scores of pictures.
