- BiographyMadison S. Lacy (1898-1978) was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was an American still photographer active from the late 1910s to 1970s. One of his first jobs was working in D. W. Griffith's studio stills department. He worked five years for Hal Roach beginning in 1919 before going independent in 1924. Lacy briefly worked at Paramount and shot the stills for Erich von Stroheim's THE WEDDING MARCH (1928). He began his long association with Warner Brothers in 1933, and continued on into the 1940s. After World War II, he worked for David O. Selznick on such films as SPELLBOUND (1945) and DUEL IN THE SUN (1946).
