The material in the collection from the 1930s appears to be related to A. Barsam's earlier business ventures, such as Barsam-Tollar Mechanical Works.
- BiographyCinema Arts-Crafts was an American company, located in Hollywood, California, that specialized in manufacturing cinema machinery during the 1940s and 1950s. A. Barsam owned and operated the company that designed and built specialized laboratory and photographic equipment and machinery, including camera equipment and mounts, printers, developers, and rewinders. Much of the equipment appears to be for the 16mm market or 35mm microfilm.
